Welcome to Lagniappe Online!

God is moving us somewhere....We're just not sure where yet!

The church is a bit like a hermit crab...the crab is the crustacean (decapod crustacean be be precise) living inside of different shells over the course of its life.  Similarly, the church is the people, and the building we meet in is just our temporary shell.  Well, with the closing of LESM Mission On the Bay, LPC is a bit like a hermit crab in the middle of the ocean about to lose our one shell but without another secure one yet in sight.  We have been priviledged to share space with LESM Mission on the Bay free of charge, but at the end of August they will close their doors and we will be seeking another facility in the Bay St. Louis and Waveland area.

One thing we know--God provides.  He owns all the money and all the real estate, so we are boldly asking for provision.

In the meantime, we need help to move our things into storage!  If you are a member, friend, or attendee of LPC and you are interested, please join us for our moving day:

Saturday, August 21st
 8 AM at
 Current LPC/Mission the Bay Facility
(647 DeMontluzin St.)
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes

 Celebratory Dinner to follow
5:30 PM at
Ben and Sarah Niemitz's House

What is this transition?!

For more information on Jean Larroux's call to Hunstville, AL please see the LPC blog post--linked at the bottom of this home page.

Still interested in volunteering on the Gulf Coast?!

Then come volunteer with one of Lagniappe's wonderful friend and partners!  Habitat for Humanity continues to host volunteers and build houses in the Bay Waveland area.  In fact, they are beginning one of their biggest housing developments to date.  If you are interested in volunteering with either organization, please contact them directly.

Erica Painter--Volunteer Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity

Thank you for your interest and continued support!
